Basement Cleanouts

Basements collect things quietly for decades, and then someone has to carry it all back up the stairs. ClearPath clears basements across the Kansas City metro and Northland — furniture, boxes, appliances, exercise equipment, paint-free shelving, and the accumulated weight of a couple of generations — and leaves the floor swept.

What's Included

We carry it out. Everything you point at goes up the stairs and into the truck: couches and recliners that came down before the stairs were finished, chest freezers and old washers, filing cabinets, workbenches, holiday decorations, water-damaged carpet and boxes, and the shelving it was all stacked on. Furniture that won't fit back up the stairs gets broken down in place. When the space is clear we sweep it, which on most basement jobs makes more difference than people expect.

Who This Service Is For

Homeowners finally tackling it, families clearing a parent's house, buyers who inherited someone else's storage, landlords turning over a rental, and anyone dealing with the aftermath of a sump pump failure or a wet spring. Older homes around Excelsior Springs, Lawson, and the Northland often have narrow, steep stairs and low ceilings — normal for us. If you want a plan before you call, our guide to tackling a basement cleanout walks through the order to do it in.

Flat-Rate Pricing, Confirmed Up Front

Every ClearPath job is quoted as a flat rate before anyone lifts a thing. Text photos or call and you'll usually have a number within minutes. What we agree to is what you pay — no hourly meter, no add-ons at the end, and no charge for the quote itself. We're locally owned and insured, and the person who answers the phone is the person who shows up.

Responsible Cleanup

Usable furniture and household goods go to a local nonprofit before they go anywhere else. Metal, appliances, and electronics get recycled. We can't take wet paint, solvents, pool or lawn chemicals, or fuel — the shelf of half-used cans in the corner needs your county's household hazardous waste drop-off, and we'll tell you which one is closest.

Frequently Asked Questions

The stairs are narrow and there's a turn at the bottom. Is that a problem?

No. Narrow stairs, low ceilings, and stone basements are standard in this part of Missouri. We break furniture down in place when it won't make the turn.

Can I keep some of it?

Of course. Most basement jobs are partial. Point at what stays, and we'll take the rest — or mark the keep pile and we'll work around it.

What about mold or water damage?

We'll haul out water-damaged furniture, carpet, boxes, and drywall debris. We're not a mold remediation company, so if there's active growth on the structure you'll want that handled separately — we'll say so rather than working around it quietly.

How long does a basement cleanout take?

Half a day for a typical partial clear-out; a full day or more for a full basement in a long-held family home. You get a flat quote either way.
