What's Included
We shut off the supply valves, disconnect the hoses, and drain what is left in the machine before it moves — a washer that has not been emptied will dump several gallons on your floor at the first tilt, and that is the most common mess on this job. Then it comes out on a stair dolly with the floors protected. Stacked units get separated first. A washer runs around 200 pounds and a full-size dryer is not far behind, so this is a two-person carry on anything with stairs.
Who This Service Is For
Homeowners upgrading to a new set. Landlords and property managers turning a rental between tenants — laundry appliances are one of the first things to get replaced and one of the last things to leave. Anyone whose delivery crew would only remove the one machine they were replacing. And people clearing a house for sale who have discovered that a dead washer in the basement is not a selling point.
Flat-Rate Pricing, Confirmed Up Front
Flat rate quoted up front, covering the disconnect, the carry, the drive and the disposal. A washer and dryer taken together in one trip costs less than two separate calls, so if both are going, send them both. Text a photo of the machines and the doorway or stairs they have to come through and you will usually have a number back within minutes.
Responsible Cleanup
Washers and dryers are mostly steel, with a motor and a drum worth recovering, so they go to a scrap yard rather than a landfill. Sets that still run and are in reasonable shape get offered for reuse first — a working dryer has real value to somebody, and there are more takers than people assume. Hoses, lint traps and the packaging from your new unit can go on the same load if you want the laundry room genuinely cleared rather than half cleared.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you disconnect gas dryers?
No, and you should not either. A gas dryer needs the gas shut off and the line capped by someone qualified before it is moved. Once that is done we will take it. Electric dryers we unplug and go.
What about a stacked or all-in-one unit?
Those are fine. Stacked sets get unstacked before they move, which is a two-person job and part of the quote, not an extra.
Can you get it up from a basement with a tight turn?
Almost always. The limiting factor is the turn at the top or bottom of the stairs rather than the weight. Send a picture of the stairwell and we will tell you straight before anybody drives out.
