Deck Removal & Demolition

A deck that's gone soft underfoot is a hazard long before it looks like one. ClearPath Junk Removal tears out decks across the Kansas City metro and Northland — boards, railings, stairs, framing, and posts — and hauls every piece off the property the same visit. You get a flat-rate price before we swing a hammer, and bare ground when we're finished.

What's Included

We break the deck down on site rather than dragging it across your yard. That means pulling the decking, cutting the framing into manageable sections, removing railings, stairs, benches, and skirting, and taking the posts out at the footing where they'll come. Ledger boards attached to the house are detached carefully so the siding underneath stays intact. Everything gets loaded and hauled — no pile left behind for you to deal with. We rake and sweep the pad before we go, including the nails and screws that end up in the grass.

Who This Service Is For

Deck removal is a good fit for homeowners replacing an aging deck, clearing space for a patio or addition, dealing with storm or rot damage, or getting a house ready to list. We also work with contractors who want the old structure gone before their crew starts. Pressure-treated, cedar, and composite all come out the same way. If the deck is multi-level, wraps a pool, or sits over a walkout basement, send photos with your quote request so we can plan the sequence.

Flat-Rate Pricing, Confirmed Up Front

Every ClearPath job is quoted as a flat rate before anyone lifts a thing. Text photos or call and you'll usually have a number within minutes. What we agree to is what you pay — no hourly meter, no add-ons at the end, and no charge for the quote itself. We're locally owned and insured, and the person who answers the phone is the person who shows up.

Responsible Cleanup

Deck material is bulky and mostly not recyclable, so the goal is keeping it out of the wrong place rather than the landfill entirely. We pull the metal — joist hangers, railings, hardware, and any aluminum or steel framing — for scrap recycling, and take the treated lumber to a facility equipped to handle it. Concrete footings, if you want them out, go to a separate disposal stream.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you pull the posts and concrete footings?

We pull the posts. Footings are a judgment call — if they come up cleanly we take them, and if they're deep or heavily set we'll tell you what it takes to dig them out and price that separately. Either way you'll know before we start, not after.

How long does a deck removal take?

Most residential decks come down in three to six hours. A small landing might be done in ninety minutes; a large multi-level deck can run a full day. The quote includes the whole job either way — we don't bill by the hour.

Do I need a permit?

For a straightforward detached deck teardown in most of our service area, no. If the deck is attached to the house and the removal touches structure or siding, check with your city — requirements vary between Kansas City, Liberty, Lee's Summit, and the smaller towns we serve. We're happy to talk through what your job involves.

Can you take the pergola, hot tub, and fence at the same time?

Yes, and it's cheaper to do it in one trip. Plenty of our deck jobs come with a hot tub sitting on them or a stretch of fence going at the same time. Bundle it into one quote.
